December is here, and with it, can be unique challenges, emotions, and memories. For many, this month brings joy and connection, but it can also illuminate feelings of stress, loneliness, or reflection on the past year. The holiday season often amplifies our inner landscapes, making the need for support and self-compassion even more vital.
Tender-Hearted Recovery is here for you.

“Recovery” is the focus of my work. Why? Because Recovery, in its essence, is a profound and ongoing journey. It is so much more than a single event or a simple fix.
It is:
- The act or process of recovering. This implies movement, effort, and time.
- A process of change through which an individual achieves reduced problematic coping, symptoms, improved health, wellness, and quality of life. This holistic view of well-being extends beyond the immediate challenge, encompassing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
At its core, recovery requires a fundamental shift: a change of ideas, emotions, and attitudes. So much so, in fact, that it can be called a personality or psychic change. This deep internal work is essential for sustainable healing.
Think of it as:
- The act, process, or an instance of recovering. Every day presents a new opportunity for healing and growth.
- The process of combating a real or perceived problem. This acknowledges the strength and resilience it takes to face difficulties head-on.
As you navigate the complexities of the season, remember the path of recovery is a tender one. Allow yourself to embrace the process of change, practice self-compassion, and remember that support is available.
