My story & excerpts from my solo play, Mamahood: Bursting into Light are now being featured in a new anthology, You Are Not Alone.

I am so honoured to be a part of this book, and I hope it helps other new mothers who are struggling in isolation, even more pronounced during Covid-19.

This anthology, You Are Not Alone: An Anthology of Perinatal Mental Health Stories is coming out in July, and is also available for preorder now (in Canada), if you’re interested!

About this Anthology:

Knowing you are not alone while struggling through parenting and in particular, perinatal mental illness, is vitally important and extremely comforting.

Tens of thousands of people in Canada suffer from a perinatal mental illness which can include prenatal and postpartum anxiety, depression, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and psychosis.

There are stories that span the time frame from conception to pregnancy to postpartum and along with these honest and impactful stories, are chapters from top experts in the field of perinatal mental health which offer insight and valuable information on all the different conditions a new mom, dad, or birthing person can experience.

The Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative is fighting for improved perinatal mental health care in Canada and after hearing so many stories, decided to create this anthology of true perinatal mental health stories to help others know that they are not alone. I am a proud Social Media Ambassador of the CPMHC as well as advocate for maternal mental health and have adapted my play into a powerful Keynote Presentation, Mamahood: A New Frontier.
